i was a long time SVN fan until i started using git seriously, its not as steep a learning curve as it appears. git + gerrit + trac/jira + github is a powerfull combo. gerrit will be the "read/write" server github and perhaps a lfs server are then replicated too on commit. development is done to gerrit any "pull requests" on github are dealtwith with the github-gerrit plugin.
