Local error. Before I noticed that cross2 used its own BASEDIR, I had set my symlink to the book to point to a cross2 directory in the area from where I locally serve the books (similar to what I'd been doing for cross-chap5). I removed that directory because the symlink had the wrong name for what is now in the BASEDIR of cross2, but I did not recreate the (regular) symlink pointing to my normal LFS directory (I thought I had done that). So, BASEDIR was a dangling symlink to a non-existent directory. Sorry for the noise. ĸen -- +++ OUT OF CHEESE ERROR.
