I strongly advise against repartitioning just for the sake of building
LFS. It's completely unnecessary. With the hint:

http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/hints/downloads/files/lfs_next_to_existing_systems.txt

you can install your LFS system on the same partition as your host Linux
system. Your host will keep running unchanged and you can take as long for
your LFS experience as you want.
