Hi Justin,

That was fast. Thanks. However, I cannot afford more than 4-6 hours at
a stretch. Is it possible to do the installation in parts. Can I can
turn the machine off, boot using the live CD again the next day and
continue where I left off?
Yes. Of course when you restart, you need to remount all your partitions for the new lfs.

When you get to chapter six, you must also redo the following sections:

6.2. Mounting Virtual Kernel File Systems
6.3. Entering the chroot environment
and lastly
6.8. Populating /dev

It sounds like a lot, but cut/pasting it goes quick. I don't think I have forgetten anything, so hopefully someone else will chime in with more info.

Justin
