(i'm hoping this is the right place to ask this.) i'm reading the current version of the cross-lfs book and have a couple questions about building the cross-compile toolchain WRT to binutils.
section 5.5.1 lists the options to use to configure binutils, and i'm curious about two of those options as compared to how the "crosstool" utility builds a toolchain. first, crosstool doesn't use "--with-lib-path" but *does* use "--with-sysroot". does that second option subsume the first in terms of the library search path? also, crosstool doesn't use "--enable-shared" when configuring binutils. what's the significance of that? clearly, since crosstool does build a working toolchain, that option can't be essential. thanks for any info. rday -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/lfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
