Additionally box distros may begin breaking in multiple areas if rc.d is meddled with too much.
I agree that there's no inherent "boots faster" or "runs faster" for LFS but I don't think that the association is so gross that we should ride people who acknowledge that their LFS is performing and humming more nicely than a large box distro.
