I tried to install LFS on a Ubuntu 5.10. Everything seems to be ok in
charter 5 (sanity test ok etc.). Problems appears when i chroot. Mount
don't work anymore, in fact since chapter 6.8.2. When i run a command
line whith mount, it says to me that /tools/bin/mount does not exist.
After verification, mount is really in /tools/bin and the utils-linux
stage in chapter 5 was good.
Was /tools/bin/mount compiled linked to libraries on your host system?
What do you get if you run
ldd /tools/bin/mount

Andy, the command returned that :
linux-gate.so.1 => (0xffffe000)
libc.so.6 => /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6 (0xb7db3000)
/lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0xb7eed000)
If i make the same command on all the files in the /tools/bin directory,
only mount, umount and more shows /lib/ld-linux.so.2. The overs shows
/tools/lib/ld-linux.so.2. I make by hand the change in the configure
file (instead the use of the command sed...) but nothing change in the
result...
