Hello!
I am using package users during an LFS installation and I
wonder who should copy bzImage, System.map and .config to
/boot: the package user used to build the linux package or the
root user. In the former case should /boot be made an
installation directory?
That's up to you.
Do you mean that it's OK to make /boot an installation directory?
If so, why do I have to create and populate /boot/grub as root?
What about grub that needs to have some of its files
(/usr/lib/grub/i386-pc/{stage{1,2},*stage1_5}) copied to
/boot/grub?
Copied and pasted from the hint:
grub:
The commands to create and populate /boot/grub have to be
executed as
root.
Thanks for reminding me to read the rest of the hint!
