Hi everybody, I have problems with xorg. I have installed everything according to the blfs-svn book xorg-7.2 and have received no errors while installing.
Running xorg as root works, only this message is shown in the xterm display: Warning: couldn't find charset data for locale [EMAIL PROTECTED]; using ISO 8859-1. When I return to the console I read: (==) Using config file: "/etc/X11/xorg.conf" (EE) AIGLX: DRI module not loaded The XKEYBOARD keymap compiler (xkbcomp) reports: > Warning: Type "ONE_LEVEL" has 1 levels, but <RALT> has 2 symbols > Ignoring extra symbols Errors from xkbcomp are not fatal to the X server FreeFontPath: FPE "/usr/lib/X11/fonts/misc/" refcount is 2, should be 1; fixing.xterm: fatal IO error 11 (Die Ressource ist zur Zeit nicht verfügbar) or KillClient on X server ":0.0" waiting for X server to shut down When I do the same as a regular user, my xterm will not start and after returning to the console I will read: (==) Log file: "/var/log/Xorg.0.log", Time: Wed Oct 24 21:09:49 2007 (==) Using config file: "/etc/X11/xorg.conf" (EE) AIGLX: DRI module not loaded The XKEYBOARD keymap compiler (xkbcomp) reports: > Warning: Type "ONE_LEVEL" has 1 levels, but <RALT> has 2 symbols > Ignoring extra symbols Errors from xkbcomp are not fatal to the X server /home/olaf/.xinitrc: line 2: cannot redirect standard input from /dev/null: no access xterm: Error 32, errno 2: File or directory not found Reason: get_pty: not enough ptys /home/olaf/.xinitrc: line 3: cannot redirect standard input from /dev/null: no access sh: cannot redirect standard input from /dev/null: no access xterm: Error 32, errno 2: File or directory not found Reason: get_pty: not enough ptys FreeFontPath: FPE "/usr/lib/X11/fonts/misc/" refcount is 2, should be 1; fixing. /usr/bin/startx: line 169: /dev/null: no access (I have translated the german error message by hand) I have about 256 pty in /dev I have had previous user - setup problems before.
