Thank you Bruce, thank you Ken -I will dig around in the log- and testcase.c-files to learn more about this and will be back with my findings. I am using LFS to learn and build my own Linux in order to get out from under WinXP(&etc) - some fifteen years after my first (and not very extensive) acquaintences with RS6000 and AIX in the wane of my IBM career. I have the LFS 6.3 LiveCD running as Linux host in "Sun VirtualBox" on my AMD Sempron 2800 (WinXP-OEM preinstalled).
