It is attributed to Sammy Davis Jr. Etymology: during a conversation/interview he said something like "He did a full 360" meaning a complete change of opinion/attitude etc. IMHO, he, as a top notch performer, can be forgiven for not being too versed in geometry, when we all, technical people, know full well that a complete reversal in direction actually involves making a turn of 270 degrees (Celsius :) -- Alex PS I expect the story to be found on YouTube somewhere.
