I don't believe there is anything wrong with your grub installation. according 
to http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/grub-devel/2012-06/msg00093.html. The 
grub-mkdevicemap command was removed from Grub 2.0 


" grub-mkdevicemap removed. Now all devices are detected on invocation of   any 
grub utility."
