Just add it. Or put into $HOME/.bashrc . It doesn't matter if you don't
have the file RIGHT NOW, when you make it, bash will read and use it.
Like this (one of several ways to do this):
$ cat >> $HOME/.bashrc << EOF
<< your stuff goes in here >>
EOF
--
