The inputrc file is used by readline which, in turn, is used by bash. You might want to try using a copy of the inputrc file and comment out everything. Then uncomment lines one by one until you can identify the problem line. You can probably just enter 'bash' to start another instance or use a virtual terminal to log in/out. Also, what kind of keyboard is it? usb?
