Hmmm, thanks for urging me to read this excellent ;-) post (had completely forgotten about it).

About tests in general, many of us assume that they are more usefull to the upstream developper than to the downstream builder (as we are). And upstream very often uses a full system and not a chroot environment. So a few failures are nothing to worry about. Of course, if all the tests fail, or the log seems to indicate that some functionality is broken, then it is better to try to fix it before going ahead.
