Just before, you must mount $LFS/dev with the /dev (dev directory of the
host in --bind mode)
So, the /dev directory of the host system must have the pts directory.
Perhaps, you forget the command
mount -v --bind /dev $LFS/dev
or this command fail or /dev/pts don't exist on your host system ??
