You really need to reread the book with attention, not just skim it with
the idea you've got a better way.  You wouldn't be asking these
questions if you had, in the beginning.  If something doesn't seem quite
right to you, you need to stop and figure out WHY it IS right.  Because
it IS!  It's all explained.  The book WORKS--has done for six different
versions for me!
