Dear All,

The Multipurpose National Identity Card (MNIC) project is an
initiative of the Indian government to create a national ID for every
Indian citizen with the objective of increasing national security,
managing citizen identity and facilitating e-governance.
As part of this provision, the Unique Identification Authority of
India is being established under the aegis of the Planning
Commission. The big push happened after the UPA government was
re-elected in May 2009. On 25 June 2009, the Manmohan Singh government
approved creation of a position of Chairperson UID Authority of India
in the rank and status of a Cabinet Minister. Nandan Nilekani was
appointed to this position.

The Transgender community in India now willing to intervine the
process so that the unique national identity should consider the
gender in inclusive manner.

currenlty we are looking for strategic advicay with the relevent
department and ministry.

We are looking for appointment and meeting with key officials and
discussing the issue.
We also thinking to hold national trans leaders meeting in spetember
and coming up with statement.

The discussion are preleminary and we need to support a document and
guidelines as our demend to the authority.

Needs some strategic direction, inputs, collaboration, funding and
document which you may think will help us.

Regards

Agniva
