To: lgbtdiscuss@googlegroups.com Friends, Iam a gay belonging to MSM community.Iam a professional Social Worker from a reputed educational institution in Kerala.Here are my views on the status of MSM community in Kerala.Iam fed up with atrocities being done by the Voluntary Organisations towards my community.Hope this will be an eye-opener to u .U may pls go through this and leave me a reply. *Where do MSM Community in Kerala Stands?* * * Are the so called Non Profitable Organisations in Kerala in right path of controlling HIV/AIDS?How far these organisations has succeeded in creating Community Consciousess.What is going on in Kerala with regard to the MSM community?How many organisations had supported their MSM stakeholders in bringing them to the front layer of the society.What is the so called empowerment and emancipation that has happened among the MSM community?Well how many men use condoms and other saftey methods during sex?Why people still belive that HIV doesnt spread through oral sex?Wht do men step backward in testing HIV? I think Awarness provided by these Organisations are poor.Awarness Delvery is like the steriyotypical. I don't know howmany of them had delivered basic Training Modules(covering what is MSM,characterstics,nature,Typolgy etc).is there a Motivation given to this community?Are learned people from MSM community been encouraged?I think delivery of basic awarness may empower my community to raise questions against these NGOs!!. Well, Kerala witnessed its first Qeer Pride Parde on 2nd July,2010.Howmany Professional NGO Staff associated in this Parde?Is it the duty of these NGOs to support such activity in state?.We know that National AIDS Control Organisation(NACO) had a good role in decreminalising homosexual (vountary sex) between two adults.And it is shameful that no NGOs came forward in raising quaries on Queer Rights...great!..(But CBOs came forwaded to support it). Is HIV Preventation happening in Kerala?Are NGO s doing it on the right track? Science is growing day by day.Scientist may discover cure of HIV.Even then MSM and Queer community has to co-exist in Kerala.For that it is neccessary that leanred persons from MSM communities should be brought front.It is very bad that Professional Staff in these NGOs are mostly Hetrosexists and Homophobic(how can person with full stomach can understand the pain of Hunger?).They see Homosexuals as marginalised, and never accepts our sexual activity.While CBOs supports a lot.But always there lack an instict of motivation.They are manipulating the MSM community...*not all but some*.HIV cases reported in Kerala is increasing day by day...And details of positive cases are been made out...I dont understand what is Professionalism...where do Phd and Mphil stands?
