I know that some other apps can decode 4:2:2 fine with lavc 0.7.4,
but I am at a loss for what I could be doing wrong. I access lavc
directly while the other apps use ffmpeg, so it's not directly
comparable.
I don't think lavc can be overruling back to YV12, because the
chroma in the top half would be stretched vertically but it is not.
It seems that lavc just writes only the top half of the full height
chroma planes.
