Works just fine with libav master. Input #0, aac, from 'http://95.81.147.7/6487/nrj_110348.mp3': Duration: N/A, bitrate: 62 kb/s Stream #0.0: Audio: aac, 44100 Hz, stereo, fltp, 62 kb/s I think the main problem here is that libav master supports mime/type as demuxing hint while the version you are using probably not and takes its dear time to cope with something that claims to be an mp3 while it is an aac elementary stream.
