FWIW, it only works with MSVC 2012 and 2010, the 2008 version lacks some
of the options that we use. (IIRC the only one was -Fi that c99wrap itself
doesn't actually use any longer, but configure still uses it.)

Indeed. And since I see that we actually list the supported versions later
in the docs I guess the wording is ok.
