Not sure. There's a bunch of small differences in the format, so there would be a lot of if (hevc) <hevc> else <h264>everywhere, which would make it uglier. And since the overall size of this thing is below 200 lines including copyright header, I'm not sure it's worth it. Besides, I think my code is safer and more readable, mainly due to using bytestream2.
