All, I am currently developing some cross-platform VoIP + video software with a heavy lent on low-bandwidth operability. I have been using a hybrid version of h263+ to compresss the video which is fine but I want to revert to a non-DCT codec like dirac or snow -mainly overcome the blocking seem when the decoder is working hard. Can anyone tell me which would be best to use as I hear snow has better performance over low-bandwith networks. Also I am currently only able to deal with YUV420P input frames at 320x240 res.
I am keen to use snow over Dirac as I have used libavcodec before and it was a dream - keep up the good work guys!
