my application is ingesting an MPEG-TS over UDP stream.
however sometimes the timestamps get changed drastically - i am unsure why
[maybe the source restarted, or a program changed, or perhaps it was
commercial integration, I dont know yet].

the questions are:
1) do you know of cases in a production environment where this clock-change
or timestamp reset happens?
2) is there a better way to detect timestamp discontinuity other than seeing
if timestamps changed by more than some fixed amount of time? does it work
even if the equipment generating the MPEG-TS signal is physically restarted?

help appreciated
