Hi Maarten, we regularly perform shutdowns of fullscreen libavg installations using the power button under Ubuntu 9.04, so this works in general. I assume you have made sure that there are no issues shutting down when the player isn't running? Does the shutdown work under 9.04 in your case? Have you verified that everything works when libavg isn't running fullscreen?
