Thanks Uli for your prompt answer. First of all I would like to mention that the libavg player is working and this is the only thing I need. So I am happy so far. However I would be curious to solve this bug too.
I am not sure how to start the program in visual studio debugger. I tryed to debug the Testbase app (using the Visual Studio Express Debug menu) but it claims that there are some missing DLL, boost_thread-vc100-mt-1_46_1.dll. This was copied in the libavg/bin directory as requested by the installation. Notice also that coping this to the release directory would certainly solve this issue but I am not even sure I am debugging correctly. I did not find any "out of the box" visual studio debugger that could debug a python command like the one I need to enter (i.e. pyton test.py). So in short, yes, help is welcome for debugging. Can you start the program in the visual studio debugger and paste the stack trace into a mail? (If you need help getting the stack trace, ask again on the list.) Cheers, Uli PS: Your name shows up as 'sdf sdf' in the mail header. Is that intended? The crash mentioned that python closed unexpectedly.
