I thought that the Statue of Liberty was a good mascot. It´s better than the donkey and the elephant. Altough the donkey(representing low inteligence) and the elephant(Representing Big Government) are apropriates. André I'm satisfied with keeping the Statue of Liberty as our unofficial mascot. It is obvious from this thread that we will never agree to any replacement. It is pretty irrelevant anyway, except for the few southern states that print the mascot on their official ballots. In most of those, we use the Statue of Liberty. Missouri is the only state I am aware of with anything different. That is because back in the early eighties the dems stole Lady Liberty for themselves. The LP tried to stop it, but was overruled. The LP then tried to use the donkey, but was again overruled (because it would cause confusion). Today the Mo LP uses the "Missouri Mule"! PEACE Steven R.
