I have just learned that the federal government plans on trying to beat out the lawsuits filed by 14 states on the health insurance mandate by bringing up case law on the 10th amendment from the civil rights movement. The federal government mandated affirmative action across the country and a number of southern states filed lawsuits claiming it was a violation of the 10th amendment. The states lost in court and affirmative action became the law of the land. The health insurance mandate will most likely be ruled the law of the land and will most likely never get repealed. Libertarians across the country should consider the free state project and move to New Hampshire. I believe our country is becoming very divided and will fall apart. The real question is are we going to govern ourselves or are we going to do nothing and allow one of the other groups to govern us in whatever region we live in? People do have to make a living and the government should not limit choice when it comes to being an employee or a business owner. When you are a business owner, you are required by law to pay for workers compensation on yourself and when you get hurt, it does not cover you because you are a business owner. I think I personally will file my own federal lawsuit on that mandate. A person should not be forced to pay for insurance he or she cannot benefit from. I could be wrong but I think one is required to purchase homeowners insurance if one owes on their home because the lender requires it. It would be a waste of effort for any party to file such a lawsuit. I would favor the LP instead issuing a statement of supporting the lawsuit that McCollum filed. $ --- In l...@yahoogroups.com, James C <jcpatr...@...> wrote: > > > FL Attorney General Bill McCollum filed a lawsuit today stating government > forcing people to buy health insurance is unconstitutional.
