To anyone who has questioned my assertion that the Deomcaratic Party is the
party of socialism in this country, I present the following. I have read the
same quote several times elsewhere and believe this is, in fact, Norman
Thomas' thoughts on the subject.
I raise the assertion now, unilaterally, on my part. Don't stop at socialism
but proceed to outright communism and it applies equally. There are very few
Democrats in this country who would hesitate for one moment in backing a single
provsion of Karl Marx's Manifesto.

When government does other than its legitimate functions, it enters into the
realm of evil. The true patriot recognizes this and strives to obstruct
government in these immoral and indefensible activities and even reverse them.
