Hi everyone, first receive my personal congratulations for your superb work. This library is exactly what I was looking for for years. I am using libevent starting at version 1.2a 1Q 2007 for developing much of my networking stuff. It avoided tons of code, saved my editors and allowed me to rethink everything.
Keep up the good work guys! And now I apologize for the intrusion in the list but I believe this is the best place for this announce. I am silently and unofficially developing on libevent since more than 1 year and I think it is now to release everything. We here in Italy developed a piece of software we hope can be useful for the libevent developers community. The project is called 'ark' and includes both libraries and a main driver application 'noah'. Both the libraries and the application contribute to keep me, my family, and a core breeding stock of the world's clients and servers safe from the Great Java Flood! The 'ark' project is a Libevent Application Development Framework for fast development of asynchronous, libevent-based applications, including of course network clients and servers, but not restricted to them. Contrary to most projects that add plugins support only when they reach a mature stage, the 'ark' project was born with plugins in mind, and being its primary goal, it comes out with plugins support since its first release. So the 'ark' project is also a framework for quick developing of plugin managers. The 'ark' framework does not like fork() and pthread_create() mainly because it believes that a single, full event-driven, non-blocking, well designed process is better able to do its job. I set just a temporary download area at: http://ark.tecsiel.it http://82.187.228.118 where you can find further information and the source code, obviously released under GLPv3, in a tar-gzipped distribution file whose url is: http://ark.tecsiel.it/Download/ark-0.1.0.tar.gz I need now your feedback to understand the need of the community for such software in order to continue the effort adding both in functionalities and plugins.
