Hi Everyone, I sent an email a few months ago to FTDI support for an issue, but have yet to hear anything back from them. I dont' think this is a driver specific problem since it happens using their FT_Prog software, but I'm curious if anyone is using the FT232RL and has also had problems configured the CBUS 2 & 3 pins via EEPROM?
Does the ftdi_eeprom tool support the FT232RL and it's EEPROM features? My Email below: Hi FTDI, I've been using your FT232RL part on a SparkFun breakout board (http://www.sparkfun.com/products/718) and have been having problems with the CBUS. Using your FT_Prog software I've tried to reconfigure the CBUS pins 2 & 3 for various operations either the BitBangWRn signal, or even just the CLK6 but there doesn't appear to be any change in the CBUS pins 2 & 3 after configuration (I've inspected the signals using a scope). I've been able to put the CLK6 on the CBUS4 pins with the FT_Prog tool but it seems the pins 2 & 3 are unresponsive to EEPROM changes. (I haven't modified the CBUS 1 & 2 pins yet, as those are tied into the TX/RX LED's as you can see from the schematic). I noticed the TX/RX LED's will light up when the device is first connected to the computer, but never again when I try to transmit data (in bitbang mode). Should these lines strobe when sending data via Asyn. BitBang operation? Any ballpark idea's what might be causing the inability to configure the CBUS 2 & 3 pins? I should note that I'm using the other BitBang pins to program an Altera Cylcone II FPGA which is working perfectly, so I know other aspects of the chip are working correctly. Also, I'm using the 2.08.02 D2XX drivers on an XP system. Thanks in advance for any pointers, I've poured over the datasheets and App notes with nothing helping me. I believe my next move is to purchase a second part and see if it has the same functionality. However, I wanted to check first with you to make sure there isn't some smoking-gun that would help me fix my problem Perhaps someone in the past has had a similar issue?
