Same test with SVN Rev 1006 direct plugged in the PC:
Reading | ################################################## | 100% 0.39s
versus (USB2 unloades)
Reading | ################################################## | 100% 2.60s
That is nearly the factor 10 you have seen. I'll try to find time to
investigate further...
