Hi, 

- no message, that's weird, did you try the git version ?
- no python detection either, try to remove CMakeCache.txt and relaunch cmake.
- but you can see the python package is built and installed to 
/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/, that should match your python installation 
path.


... and the you should import ftdi1 instead of ftdi as of v1.0
