Mateusz,

Thank you for such a fast response. I'm stuck with FreeBSD 6.4 right now, and cannot move to 7.x yet. too many dependencies...

I've just checked out the trunk for 1.2:

$ svn checkout http://liblas.org/svn/trunk/ liblas-1.2
Checked out revision 1289
$ cd liblas-1.2
$ ./configure
./configure not found
$ make check
make: don't know how to make check. Stop

and I can't seem to run aclocal either... hummmm....

Jeff.

After doing a little research, it looks like I need a compiler that's a
little more recent, which I have, but I'm not sure how to tell
./configure to use the more recent compiler. Since I'm somewhat of a
newbie with libtool, automake, and autoconf, does anyone have a
suggestion for simply telling ./configure (or mod'n the inputs) to
require gcc 4.1+?

Also, if any of this helps...

Jeff,

I have tested libLAS from current SVN trunk on FreeBSD 7.2 (amd64)
Here is complete log: http://osgeo.pastebin.com/d6a6344cd
I don't remember which version of compiler I used (I can check it
tomorrow), though I'm quite sure it's 4.x line. Everything works as here:

Have you tried to run tests?
If not, could you issue "make check" command?
