All,
On behalf of LT, I'd like to thank Howard and the rest of the community. We appreciate your diligence, ingenuity and flexibility. Readers of this may find our current blog post of interest. It mentions liblas, osgeo and the party ... er, code sprint in Torronto. http://www.lizardtech.com/blog/2009/lizardtech-engineering’s-introduction-to-lidar-compressor/ again, thanks, msr ======================= [Liblas-devel] LAS/lidar tools from LizardTech (that use libLAS) Howard Butler hobu.inc at gmail.com Mon Jul 13 15:11:53 EDT 2009 Previous message: [Liblas-devel] libLAS in Java Next message: [Liblas-devel] libLAS in Java Messages sorted by: [ date ] [ thread ] [ subject ] [ author ] All, I just wanted to give a sales pitch to LizardTech of their new MG4 format and lidar compression tools that were announced today. Head to <http://www.lizardtech.com/products/lidar/> to find out more information. The reason I am giving them the sales pitch is that now that the product has been announced, and I can publicly thank LizardTech for their support of libLAS. The new compression utilities use libLAS underneath the covers, and LizardTech supported improvements in libLAS to bring it up to the LAS 1.2 specification as well as the numerous improvements to the spatial referencing systems. LizardTech has also been supportive in finding and providing LAS file samples for the sample library <http://liblas.org/samples> that seem to break libLAS in unexpected and peculiar ways. These files have helped improved the software and the wider LAS community. Thanks guys, we all appreciate it!
