After much fussing and complaining and frustration...I was able to

LAS file in EPSG:4326 (Geographic) to appear with full precision and
coordinate system information inside of QT Viewer.

Can you provide a file (with geotiff keys) that your software has
written for our sample library? http://liblas.org/samples
You should register your software id with the LAS committee if you get
a chance.
