I have developed some Ruby bindings for the libLAS C API.
The code is available from bitbucket at
http://bitbucket.org/quentonc/liblas-rb/.
To clone with mercurial:
hg clone http://bitbucket.org/quentonc/liblas-rb/
The bindings allow you to call any liblas function from a ruby program.
I have only personally used a small subset of the methods in production so far,
so many bindings are untested as of yet.
