GlobalMapper has support for LAS format and SHP and appears to have
ability to view them together. Also check out Visual Nature Studio which
can easily grid an XYZ file into a terrain-like surface and imports SHP
files as well. Visualization can be either in realtime or with surface
populated with real-world textures, trees, and such. SHP files can be
viewed as vectors or used to control lots of other kinds of real-world
features. GlobalMapper is also available from 3D Nature.
