Nevermind what I said.... it actually works!

Turns out the exodus file I initially tried it on was corrupt... I
just tried it on another file... and it works!

So now we have a much more cross-platform Exodus solution (before we
just had a binary for 32bit Linux I believe)... this helps me out
immensely!
