The DenseVector stuff looks like an unquestionable improvement. For
the DenseMatrix::copy_matrix method, though - why not just template
operator= to handle a DenseMatrix<T2>?
To be clear: we'd want to keep the original implementation around for
efficiency in the T==T2 case, but they could coexist as operator
overloads.
