Please see below. Briefly, can I coarsen an already refined adaptive mesh using any of the MeshRefinement functions? If my solution changes dynamically, can I manually mark an element for coarsening? I can do so for refinement, but it looks like elements do not get deleted if I simply flag an element e->set_refinement_flag(Elem::COARSEN). Is this doable? of If libMesh is not designed for dynamically adapting the mesh? May I take the opportunity to thank you in advance for your help.
