Good evening everyone! I have been invited as a guest on a radio 'talk show' programme' in Sandpoint, Idaho, simulcast in a wider area, and discussing the Patriot Act. Perhaps some of you may have wondered why my presence here has been rather marginal, at best? This issue is coming up Monday morning, and I have to be prepared.
As this jells out, I won't be the 'guest', but likely the only online (radio) voice receiving calls from the audience. During the course and over the next three days or so, I really have to bone up hard on the Patriot Act. I have to get my act together, and be the local expert, and I need all of your help in researching resources. During the course of the next three days, I'll obviously be spending a lot of time in preparing for the obvious nuances that occur on radio talk show formats. I am sure that there are plenty of you, if you care to choose to, to help me out a lot here... and I hope some of you will. I really need to get a tremendous grasp right now on why we object to the Patriot Act, as I expect to go head to head with a Boise, Idaho 'expert' who supports it, is knowledgable on it all, and is willing to go head to head with me on all of its ramifications and aspects. Now this is a challenge isn't it? I was recommended as the 'volunteer' to do this thing Monday, and I really don't want to let Bill Denman and others down in making a complete fool of myself. So, tonight, I'll defer to you. Yes. Each of you. As I understand it anyway, even those in our national legislature, hadn't even read the so-called Patriot Act, but nonetheless, were intimidated to sign on to it anyway based upon the climate of 'fear' that existed subsequent to 9/11. Right now, over the next three days or so, I need legimate resoures, and a way to address this festering ligislation that has postured itself to destroy all civil liberties and human rights in America as we speak! If this is indeed so, then I need your input right now, tonight, tomorrow, and over the course of this weekend. Because Monday morning I have to have my act together. To get your attention into this matter further, I am being 'billed' as a 'Libertarian Spokesperson' for this event. I don't pretend right now to be an expert. I don't even feel comfortable in representing the Libertarian Party in this event, so I need all of the help any of you might wish to contributte. Actually, I am very humble to even being invited to participate in Monday's talk show. As it looks right now, I'll probably be the chief 'guest' in this event. I want to do the very best I can to ensure that our point of view is held forth in such a way that every listener takes home our message. So, again. I need legitimate resources, and one-liners too, that can best get our message across on Monday morning.
