The flyer below was created by past Idaho LP Chair Joe Rohner. While he
wrote it from the perspective of its disastrous impacts on small
operators, it would also destroy rights of homeowners earning "sweat
equity" and those trying to improve their homes and yards on a limited
budget. This bill would give big-time contractors a huge advantage over
any competition. It enables those with full-time office staffs to pay
low wages to their field workers while easily out-competing the
mom'n'pop operators.
Get involved now. This has been quietly snuck through the state house
and is being rushed through the state senate now.

1. *_It will protect NO ONE from ANYTHING._*
2. It will hand a virtual *_monopoly to big contractors backed by the
Building Contractors’ Association_*; this will allow them to raise
all construction costs.__
3. It *_will put thousands of small contractors out of work_* by
requiring excessive insurance, workman’s comp, registration fees,
and other costs.__
4. It will *_raise the cost of homes to consumers_* due to rising
construction costs.__
5. It will *_increase property_* taxes due to rising property tax
assessments.__
6. It will prevent the following people from doing contract work over
$2,000.00: *_Teachers and College Students who do summer work_*;
*_part time contractors_* who do small projects evenings and
weekends; *_Small contractors of all kinds who paint, landscape,
frame, hang drywall, law roofing, work concrete etc._*__
7. It *_will hurt real estate sale_*_ _due to rising costs of homes.__
8. It will *_hurt the home rehab industry_*, people who fix up homes
*_must wait a year to sell!!!_* This*_ affects Realtors right in
the wallet!_*__
9. It will hurt *_homeowners who spend over $2,000.00_* on their own
homes. They *_will also have to wait a year to sell their own
homes!!!_*__
