British Ban Indoor Smoking
By ALAN COWELL
After tortured debate, Parliament voted 384 to 184 on Tuesday to enact a
total ban on smoking in indoor public places in England.
Crap! Idaho banned public indoor smoking just this year. As did
Washington State, which is being challenged in a proposed
referendum or initiative to overturn the ban (in Washington).
My point I guess is that we are ruled by an out of control mob of
barbarians who chose at the ballot box to elect government
representatives that strip away our rights as both consumers and
providers in providing and consuming choices that ought to be of
our own choosing! It pisses me off a great deal that as a young
man I chose to join the U.S. military to ward off communism and
the evils of totalitarianism that possess our own country today.
Had I an opportunity to make such a choice today, I would have
stayed at home to fight the enemy amongst our own midst, which is
far worse than an supposed enemy in Moscow, Peaking or Havana (at
the time).
We are losing our individual rights and liberties in quantum
leaps as we speak, all in the names of the various hosts of war
that are being declared by 'our' government. Lots of wars: war
on terror, war on drugs, war on tobacco, wars on everything,
including human behaviour for what it's worth!
Kindest regards,
Frank
