Hello :D, I realize developers might be thinking this is way, way too early in the process to be truly worrying about visual appearance, however form and function always have to work hand-in-hand.
Would now be the right time to provide visual mockups of features to assist in making a good UI experience for libre.fm? Will there be an opening/competition/event of some sort to gather recommendations for visual appearance/identity for libre.fm at some point? I recommend planning for something like that and defining at what stage of the development process it will be the best time to implement a better visual appearance. Because to be frank (all of us knowing this already), the design of libre.fm does not validate in terms of identity, usability, aesthetics or consistency. A quick read of http://www.alistapart.com/articles/indefenseofeyecandy/ should provide arguments for why this issue should not be ignored until at the very last moment. I specialize in interface design for the Web, so if any help is needed point me in the right direction and I’ll contribute :D I am particularly interested in making libre.fm visually independent from last.fm. _______________________________________________ Libre-fm mailing list [email protected] http://lists.autonomo.us/mailman/listinfo/libre-fm
