Maybe I am just playing devil's advocate here, but is that what
you want?

Some people are listening to sources of music which extend beyond
what they wish to listen to. If an undesirable song comes along,
and the user notices it, they are oing to change to another song
(if they can). What is it you want to show up in the statistics?
Do you want to not see the song played at all, or do you want to
see that the song was aborted early? If one looks at the
Love/Skip/Ban options from Last.fm, you definately want all the
data (that the song was skipped at 3.8 seconds). Skipping a song
that early, is veyr much like a vote to ban the song. Certainly
it is a vote to skip it.

Another thing which might show up in the statistics, is that 80%
of the time that song was played, a request to skip to the next
track came along. This song should be granted less "status" if
one is building a playlist based upon things related to "random".

It may be that a person can listen to a particular song after
listening to songs of some nature, but they find themselves
unable to listen to that same song after listening to songs of a
different nature. The whole idea of scrobbling is to help people
choose songs to listen to. Ignoring that a song played does not
help build up that statistics which are valuable.
