I may be being dense here, but I am not seeing the accusation in the
first place. I see words like "wondering" and "if"...

Why should we not wonder such things about each other and seek
assurances before deciding to go above and beyond our normal levels of
helping?

(This is really a generic question and not aimed at this particular
thread other than this thread kicked off the idea in my head.)

I feel certain that we can be sure that at some point, someone will
try and get around the agpl for purposes of denying freedom just as
they have done so with the gpl.

I am thinking of this problem more in terms of musicians and artists
who are doing the Free thing and I may want to get behind and push and
what sorts of commitments and assurances I would want to see from then
before committing large amounts of time and other resources to getting
the word out about them only to find that they are just using some
Free music as a come on and looking to go non-Free once they get a
name.

In general, I think these are reasonable thoughts to have. I am open
to be persuaded otherwise, just as I try to consider things like this
carefully as well:

Now, having the questions is one thing, finding the wisdom to ask them
in such a way as to make the situation better may be another and I
feel I am still a ways away from that place with the questions on the
music side.

all the best,

drew
