Greetings and Salutations: I installed i2c-tools and read-edid
I tried: sudo get-edid | strings and got what I presume was get-edid output, but also got the error message: bash: strings: command not found so I tried: sudo get-edid | parse-edid and got this output: (I hope it serves the same purpose) (all of the below information was contained in the sudo get-edid | strings output, and this has additional information, so I am including solely this output) ______________________________________________________________________________ $ sudo get-edid | parse-edid parse-edid: parse-edid version 2.0.0 get-edid: get-edid version 2.0.0 Performing real mode VBE call Interrupt 0x10 ax=0x4f00 bx=0x0 cx=0x0 Function supported Call successful VBE version 300 VBE string at 0x11100 "Intel(r)Cantiga Graphics Chip Accelerated VGA BIOS" VBE/DDC service about to be called Report DDC capabilities Performing real mode VBE call Interrupt 0x10 ax=0x4f15 bx=0x0 cx=0x0 Function supported Call successful Monitor and video card combination does not support DDC1 transfers Monitor and video card combination supports DDC2 transfers 0 seconds per 128 byte EDID block transfer Screen is not blanked during DDC transfer Reading next EDID block VBE/DDC service about to be called Read EDID Performing real mode VBE call Interrupt 0x10 ax=0x4f15 bx=0x1 cx=0x0 Function supported Call successful parse-edid: EDID checksum passed. # EDID version 1 revision 3 Section "Monitor" # Block type: 2:0 3:f # Block type: 2:0 3:fe Identifier "LEN:3640" VendorName "LEN" ModelName "LEN:3640" # Block type: 2:0 3:f # Block type: 2:0 3:fe # DPMS capabilities: Active off:yes Suspend:yes Standby:yes Mode "1440x900" # vfreq 59.998Hz, hfreq 55.558kHz DotClock 101.560000 HTimings 1440 1488 1520 1828 VTimings 900 903 909 926 Flags "-HSync" "-VSync" EndMode Mode "1440x900" # vfreq 50.009Hz, hfreq 51.309kHz DotClock 86.610000 HTimings 1440 1488 1520 1688 VTimings 900 903 909 1026 Flags "-HSync" "-VSync" EndMode # Block type: 2:0 3:f # Block type: 2:0 3:fe EndSection ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Then I tried sudo modprobe i2c-dev sudo i2cdump -y [integer] 0x50 where integers from 1 to 9 were tried. I think it may be an education model, because its model number was similar to the education models in the massive list of the T400 's I downloaded. This model number: 2768-EK9 was not in that list. It has almost all possible features except for the WWAN card, but has the antenna and miniPCI slot for the WWAN card. This boots fine with Factory.Rom, but not at all with Libreboot.Rom, at least not the way I was compiling it. I have not tried the newest t400_8mb_usqwerty_vesafb.rom from the libreboot.org website. Note: the T9900 CPU is an upgrade from factory. I haven't tried the orginal CPU with Libreboot.Rom yet. The 4GB of ram installed is most likely the factory ram, as it came with the machine when I bought it. In case you wonder about my assembly technique, the T400 has always worked with the Factory.Rom and the factory 4GB RAM. I haven't tried every permutation of installed gear and version of libreboot.rom because each assembly / dissasembly is a risk of breaking something, most likely a connector. If you need the output of get-edid | strings, tell me what package installs 'strings' command.
