Msvc doesn't support C99.
With default settings msvc is ansi c compiler (C89/C90) meaning that
"variable declaration is restricted to file scope or the start of a
compound statement (block)".
There are other ways to fix this:
1) add "{" to start, and "}" to end macro
2) compile library as c++ under msvc
